Orthopedic Massage focuses on soft tissues and muscles to help relieve pain and increase mobility and range of motion. Some of the techniques used in Orthopedic Massage include active engagement, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, positional release, muscle energy release and nerve mobilization techniques.
Types of conditions that may benefit from Orthopedic Massage include bulging discs, sciatica, and tendinitis. Orthopedic massage can also be helpful after hip replacement, knee, and ACL replacement surgeries.
MYK Massage typically takes less than 20 minutes and starts with a postural analysis. Your posture, and how you sit and walk all gave an effect on your body. If your body is out of alignment, it can cause issues. After the postural analysis, one nerve is determined to be the source of the issue. Through muscle movement and stimulation along that nerve path, the issue can be resolved. MYK can be done over the clothes and is a great treatment when you are pressed for time.
